Part of advertising is understanding your media. Advertising cannot be measured, especially in print, by how many people bought your product the day the newspaper or magazine came out with your advert in it. We use a standard of an advert needing to be seen seven times (whether subconsciously or consciously, same media or different) before it is acted upon. This is because print media is subliminal and largely content oriented, which is great if you have chosen media that someone feels strongly about, because your advert will have a greater impact on their subconscious mind. The best thing about print advertising is that it lives on for decades after it was printed.
Although you might think Zimbabwe is not ready for online advertising, there is fibre internet under most of the country and almost everyone has a smartphone connected to some sort of internet. Online marketing which is visual, powerul and in the moment compliments your long-term print advertising. Easily targeted and statistics and analytics can be measured in real-time. Online advertising is cost-effective, however, as compared to print, we're only human and as the world slowly digresses into more and more virtuality, print gets feels more and more prestigious. You might miss an online advert, but would you miss a billboard?
Video media has just received the highest Search Engine Ratings for the 3rd year in a row. That says something about how you should be advertising... Take everything that technology has given us and place it into moving pictures, with sound and a story. It is the strongest form of media yet, other than face to face selling. Don't sit on the fence with this one!
